Got WLAN? Get the BlackBerry 7270 Wireless Handheld

The portfolio of BlackBerry® handhelds has recently branched out with the introduction of the new BlackBerry 7270 Wireless Handheld™. This new handheld provides on-premises or facility-based workers access to wireless email, data and Session Initiated Protocol (SIP) based IP Telephony via 802.11b Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs). The BlackBerry 7270™ is the first handheld designed to operate on a WLAN and works with BlackBerry Enterprise Server™ v4.0 to enhance the productivity, efficiency and flexibility of on-premises workers.

BlackBerry at JavaOne – June 27 -29, 2005 in San Francisco, CA

Stop by the BlackBerry booth (#1612) in the Mobility Village at the JavaOne Pavilion. We will be showcasing our revised BlackBerry Developer Zone web site and looking for your feedback. By filling out a brief survey you will be entered for a chance to win a limited edition BlackBerry “Ask the Guru” JavaOne T-shirt and 1 of 3 free BlackBerry devices. Other booth activities include technical representatives exhibiting valuable developer tools including the BlackBerry JDE and MDS Studio v4.1 and the release of a special edition BlackBerry Developer Journal.

Research In Motion will have both David Yach, Senior VP of Software and Michael Shenfield, Manager, Advanced Technologies Group present a session (TS-7888) titled “Beyond JSR-172: A Wireless Component Architecture to Enable Mobile Web Services” as part of the Mobility and Devices track. This technical session presents a novel approach to building truly lightweight, mobile applications that seamlessly integrate with web service-enabled back-ends. The applications are expressed using XML and could be either developed with an appropriate IDE or dynamically generated ad-hoc using web service information such as WSDL, BPEL, JSR 181-based metadata and so on. The session includes multiple XML examples, code samples and wireless demos.
