The BlackBerry Partners Fund announced the first of sixteen Finalists in the 2009 BlackBerry Developer Challenge. These finalists were Fierce Towers (by Nickel Buddy), Astraware Solitare (by Handmark), Expense Manager (by Total Wireless Solutions), and Vision for YouTube (by Metova).

Finalists were selected by a panel of judges based on the following criteria: compelling product or service; clearly defined value proposition; viable business model; and technical execution.

Sixteen Finalists in total will be chosen to compete for a cash prize of $75,000 plus a $25,000 Grand Prize Package. Each of the finalists will receive one week in the BlackBerry App World Featured Application Carousel and one free pass for the 2009 BlackBerry Developer Conference (Nov. 9-12, San Francisco, CA)

We are accepting new applications until September 25th so you still have the opportunity to enter and be eligible for the Finalists price package. Be sure to get your innovative apps entered to win amazing prizes!
