Attachment Viewing for BlackBerry – Free Preview
Research In Motion is offering a free preview of
the new attachment viewing capabilities for BlackBerry™. With
this new functionality, BlackBerry handheld users will be able to
access their email attachments wirelessly, allowing for more timely
management of important information. The attachment handling features
provide an integrated experience, enabling users to view information
from attached documents on their BlackBerry handhelds in a rich
and intuitive way. Popular document formats such as Microsoft®
Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint®, WordPerfect®,
Adobe PDF and text files (ASCII) are supported.
Attachment handling capability requires software
on both BlackBerry handhelds and BlackBerry Enterprise Server. This
free preview is currently available for RIM 850™, RIM 950™,
RIM 857™ and RIM 957™ handhelds running BlackBerry handheld
software v2.1 or higher. At this time, the free preview is only
available in English for North American customers who have installed
BlackBerry Enterprise Server v2.1 for Lotus® Domino™ or
BlackBerry Enterprise Server v3.5 for Microsoft® Exchange. If
your BlackBerry software meets the minimum requirements and you
would like to participate, download the free preview software here.
