PeopleSoft Ships Wireless CRM for eBusiness Vantive Mobile Field Service Application Now Available on the RIM Inter@ctive Pager

Pleasanton, CA - PeopleSoft, Inc. (Nasdaq: PSFT) today announced the general availability of Vantive Mobile FieldService for the RIM pager. This is the first in a series of wireless eBusiness solutions that PeopleSoft expects to bring to market that will provide real-time data to sales and service professionals from anywhere in the extended enterprise.

PeopleSoft is providing the Vantive Mobile FieldService solution on the RIM Inter@ctive Pager (from Research In Motion), which will allow mobile users such as field service engineers, to view and update data from the corporate database in real-time. This solution addresses the needs of mobile users by ensuring that mission-critical information is available on demand and from anywhere. As a result, field service organizations can keep customer satisfaction at its highest and eliminate missed revenue opportunities, helping to increase revenue and decrease costly mistakes.

"Vantive Mobile FieldService is an ideal communication channel between our dispatch center and our staff of real estate photographers," said Chad Markle, director of business solutions at IPIX, a Vantive customer who provides visual content for the Internet. "The two-way wireless interaction capabilities enable our photographers to be more efficient as well as keep headquarters constantly updated with information."

The Vantive Mobile FieldService solution uses technology that helps to ensure the mobile user has the latest available data for each service request. It will allow field service organizations to monitor users in-service availability and escalate all service requests that are at risk of not meeting contractual agreements.

This solution, which will be available across the entire Vantive Enterprise, gives mobile users an inexpensive, lightweight and functional device as a means of entry into the two-way wireless network. When fully enabled, the application can deliver and receive information over all public networks and many private wireless networks in the world.

"This will put data where it is most useful - literally in the hands of the employee," said John Grozier, vice president of Product Strategy for PeopleSoft's customer relationship management division. "PeopleSoft is taking the lead in meeting the needs of the mobile workforce, and has included in its product plans the delivery of mobile applications across multiple networks and clients including RIM pagers, palm-size devices, Windows CE devices and RF enabled laptops, each simultaneously accessing the corporate database."
