Plumtree and AvantGo Team Up to Deliver Mobile Enterprise Portal Solutions

AvantGo Announces Support for Plumtree Corporate Portal 4.5

San Mateo, CA - AvantGo, Inc. (NASDAQ: AVGO), the leading provider of mobile infrastructure software and services, today announced support for the Plumtree Corporate Portal 4.5 and an alliance with Plumtree Software to deliver valuable content and resources from the applications and content integrated in the Plumtree Corporate Portal to handheld devices. Now, joint customers located anywhere have wireless access to the mission-critical information and applications from the Plumtree Corporate Portal 4.5 via the award-winning AvantGo® M-Business Server software. Wireless access is facilitated by integration between AvantGo's M-Business Server software and the Plumtree Wireless Server, a major new component of the Plumtree Corporate Portal 4.5.

Using the AvantGo M-Business Server software with the Plumtree Corporate Portal 4.5, portal users can access in real time from mobile devices a wide variety of corporate data and applications, such as major ERP, CRM and business intelligence systems. For maximum flexibility, AvantGo's solutions support a wide variety of devices, including Research In Motion's BlackBerry Wireless Handhelds™, Microsoft Pocket PC-based and Palm OS-based devices, using a variety of connectivity options from today's wireless protocols, including GSM, GPRS, CDPD, CDMA, Mobitex and 802.11(b) wireless local area networks.

Wireless handheld devices are among the fastest growing tools in the IT industry. According to International Data Corporation, worldwide handheld companion unit shipments are expected to increase from 10.4 million in 2000 to 35.5 million in 2004.

"Plumtree believes that corporate portals are uniquely positioned to offer comprehensive wireless access to enterprise data and applications," said Plumtree CEO John Kunze. "Our Gadget Web Services already provide convenient, secure access to the most useful components of applications, and working with AvantGo, we have ensured that the Plumtree Corporate Portal 4.5 addresses the practicalities of deploying a portal to users that don't have desktop access to their most important enterprise resources."

Mike Kritzman, vice president of channel sales for AvantGo added, "Our focus is to help customers improve productivity and operational efficiency through the use of wireless devices. We measure our success from the increase in return an enterprise sees from its existing technology investments. Working with Plumtree Software, we deliver combined expertise to enable mobile users to harness data faster and more cost effectively when they are on the go."
