Cingular Interactive Introduces Corporate Email PLUS

Wireless service is the only offering that combines access to corporate email via BlackBerry™ with interactive messaging to keep employees connected and boost productivity

Las Vegas, WAVE 2001 - Cingular Interactive's new Corporate Email PLUS service became available today as the only service that gives enterprise employees nationwide wireless access to their Microsoft Exchange- or Lotus Notes-based corporate email along with interactive messaging capabilities via a wireless handheld. The announcement was made at the Wireless Alliances and Vision Exchange (WAVE) 2001 conference presented by Cingular Wireless, of which Cingular Interactive is a business unit.

Corporate Email PLUS, which is available from both the RIM 950 and RIM 957 Wireless Handhelds™, uniquely combines the security of wireless corporate email from the BlackBerry wireless email solution with the speed of another powerful service, Cingular Interactive's Interactive Messaging PLUS service. Corporate Email PLUS gives employees the ability to:

• Manage their Exchange- or Notes-based corporate email via BlackBerry by receiving, responding to and forwarding emails as if they were in their office. All Exchange- or Notes-based emails are secured by encryption technology, thus meeting the stringent corporate security guidelines for remote email access. Individuals use the same email address for both their wireless handheld and desktop PC
• Reliably communicate with their work groups generally within seconds via the interactive messaging feature of Interactive Messaging PLUS to communicate and share critical information, address important issues with colleagues, customers or partners, or have discreet "conversations." Users know when interactive messages have been delivered and read through the service's special confirmation feature. They also have access to Internet email, which with interactive messaging provides a back-up when their corporate email server is down or running slow. In addition +they can send messages to fax machines and telephones. Interactive Messaging PLUS also is available as a stand-alone service.

Personal Information Manager (PIM)

Corporate Email PLUS also includes a built-in Personal Information Manager (PIM) feature, which provides access to an appointment calendar, address book, memo pad, task list and calculator. Users of Microsoft Exchange can synchronize their appointment calendar wirelessly with their desktop, and accept, decline and create meeting requests on their handheld. Address books, memo pads, task lists and Lotus Notes-based calendars are synchronized with a user's desktop via a cradle.

The RIM 950 and RIM 957 Wireless Handhelds have several new features that are available both to users of Corporate Email PLUS and Interactive Messaging PLUS. These include: the ability for users to copy and paste text; and delivery of messages even when the handheld is turned off so messages are there when the device is turned back on.
