Novarra and Research In Motion Alliance Allows Access to Enterprise Applications Using Popular BlackBerry™ Handhelds
Arlington Heights, IL - Novarra, Inc., the innovator of instant wireless software solutions, will provide access to business-critical Internet, intranet and extranet applications on the popular BlackBerry Wireless Handhelds™ from Research In Motion Limited (RIM) (NASDAQ:RIMM). With Novarra WirelessWeb Enterprise Suite, BlackBerry™ customers will be able to access their existing intranet portals, CRM, business intelligence, field service and other eBusiness applications - without the need to re-develop the existing content for wireless.
In an alliance announced today, RIM has certified Novarra as a Select Level Partner. Novarra WirelessWeb Enterprise Suite is now integrated with BlackBerry to adapt any existing Web-based application to the handheld screen, while maintaining a high quality end user experience. Novarra's solution offers an enhanced mobile user experience with its automatic content adaptation technology and configuration tools that tailor information for optimal presentation and easy navigation on small-screen handhelds.
Reliable Data at Any Point of Activity
"RIM's BlackBerry solution has set the performance standard for mobile devices and has become indispensable for its users by extending the convenience of email to wherever they are," said Art Roldan, Novarra's president and CEO. "Novarra WirelessWeb Enterprise Suite for BlackBerry handhelds enables businesses to leverage existing eBusiness investments by extending powerful enterprise applications to employees at the point of activity."
Novarra provides BlackBerry users with a complete software-based solution that eliminates the complexity, integration and testing costs associated with developing wireless applications. Novarra WirelessWeb Enterprise Suite automatically adapts complex, desktop-centric eBusiness applications for optimal presentation on small-screen handhelds, manages wireless connectivity over any network and delivers end-to-end security.
Novarra also provides its best-in-class WirelessWeb microBrowser for BlackBerry - an intuitive, easy-to-use browser that provides quick content download times and superior navigation features that minimize scroll-around and maximize a user's ability to quickly access relevant information and perform the task at hand. Similar to standard desktop browsers, the WirelessWeb microBrowser supports an interface to BlackBerry and other options such as authentication, home page, favorites, history, and keyboard shortcuts to provide a rich and secure browsing experience. Although it is mainly intended for live interaction, the WirelessWeb microBrowser also has standalone functionality so mobile workers can enter and store form data, or review and navigate stored information that can be processed at a later time.
"Enterprise customers want complete technology solutions that deliver a return on investment for their organization," said Mark Guibert, vice president, brand management at Research In Motion. "This alliance will allow customers to extend the core benefits of their web-based eBusiness applications to mobile environments and improve productivity for both individuals and workgroups."
