Nextair Corporation Signs ISV Alliance Agreement With RIM to Deliver Field Service Solutions with Blackberry

Nextair Announces Deployment of its Vertical Applications Aimed Directly at BlackBerry Users and Resellers in North America and Europe

Toronto, ON - Nextair Inc. (TSE: NXA), announced today that it has signed an Independent Software Vendor (ISV) Alliance Agreement with Research In Motion Limited (RIM) (Nasdaq: RIMM; TSE: RIM). This agreement enables RIM and Nextair to jointly showcase Nextair's service management solution, DispatchForce, to corporate customers, and present its small business dispatch application, mdispatch, to wireless operators looking to provide corporate customers with proven service management solutions. Both DispatchForce and mdispatch will operate with BlackBerry Wireless Handhelds™.

DispatchForce, Nextair's advanced wireless service management dispatching application, is capable of two-way communications between dispatchers and field personnel across multiple wireless networks. Dispatchers utilize DispatchForce to record complete details of service requests, while workers in the field receive notification of pending customer calls and are able to update service activity with BlackBerry Wireless Handhelds. mdispatch is a carrier-based wireless Internet dispatching service that allows organizations to automate field service tasks and other mobile employees data collection activities. mdispatch automatically tunes its features and capabilities to the users needs or selected industry, regardless if they are health care, field service, delivery or general customer service organizations.

From a return on investment and productivity perspective, Nextair service management solutions save considerable administrative time and allow mobile service staff to complete more customer calls in a day. For instance, using DispatchForce or mdispatch, field service technicians need only one device to communicate with the enterprise network, to receive dispatches and to review and update customer history, work order details, warranty status, parts availability, billing information and other applicable data.

"RIM is dedicated to working with software developers such as Nextair to deliver wireless applications that extend the functionality of BlackBerry for corporate customers and carriers," said Mark Guibert, Vice President, Brand Management at Research In Motion. "By combining Nextair's field service solutions with BlackBerry, organizations can increase productivity and customer responsiveness through improved communication between dispatchers and field service personnel."

Both DispatchForce and mdispatch utilize Nextair's award-winning, open standards AIRIX wireless enabling architecture and application development technology. Nextair's new generation of AIRIX-enabled service management solutions support BlackBerry™ handhelds operating on the Mobitex and DataTAC wireless data networks and will soon support BlackBerry handhelds operating on new GPRS networks.

"Nextair is positioned to support customers today who are looking for service management solutions that will not become obsolete with the introduction of new wireless networks. We're excited to launch these new services with RIM and see this relationship as a tremendous opportunity, one that will allow us to deliver of our service management solutions to a much broader customer base and leverage RIM's relationships with wireless operators on a global scale," said Simon Fraser, Nextair's President and CEO.

Fuji Graphics Systems of Canada, a leading source of graphic arts and imaging technology and a world leader in the field of electronic imaging, recently expanded its use of DispatchForce nationally to encompass their entire field service work force across Canada. This decision was based on the successful results of the initial implementation of DispatchForce in the Toronto area. Bell Mobility, Canada's leading wireless carrier, has also announced that it is partnering with Nextair to offer wireless service management solutions that will enhance business customer productivity.

Nextair will be demonstrating its field service solutions on BlackBerry handhelds in the RIM booth at the CTIA Wireless 2002 show in Orlando, Florida, March 18th - 20th.
