Motient Announces Immediate Availability Of New RIM 857 With Increased Memory
New RIM Wireless Handheld Features 8MB of Memory for Expanded Applications
Lincolnshire, IL - With the announcement that Research In Motion Limited (RIM) (NASDAQ: RIMM; TSX; RIM) is expanding the memory of its RIM 857 Wireless HandheldTM to eight megabytes from five, Motient Corporation, (OTC:MNCP) a major distributor of the RIM 857 for its national data network, foresees an opportunity to increase the productivity and efficiency of its enterprise customers by wirelessly extending the power of their existing and future applications. Despite the added memory capacity and application potential, Motient has no plans to increase prices.
"The expanded memory will have immediate benefits for our wireless email customers, whether they use BlackBerry by Motient, eLink, or other wireless applications," said Dan Croft, senior vice president of marketing and business development for Motient. "Not only will this enhance availability of current applications for our customers, but it will make way for future application enhancements requiring additional memory capacity. We are excited to be able to offer this new enhanced product from RIM at no additional cost to our customers."
