WolfeTech Introduces Sigma 1.1™ and WolfeEngine™ - New Version Enterprise Software With BlackBox Solution for RIM Wireless Handheld™
Claremont, CA - WolfeTech Development Corporation, leading software developer of wireless communications solutions designed to simplify quick and reliable access to crucial business data, today announced the commercial availability of Sigma 1.1™. The new Sigma 1.1 software application for the RIM BlackBerry Wireless Handheld™ platform features an easy-to-use administrator interface, increased speed, and improved robust security features.
Sigma's new features were designed to simplify implementation and administration of the wireless enterprise solution for the RIM family of wireless handhelds™. Administrators now have the ability to design wireless access to a corporate intranet web page or a web-enabled application like Customer Relationship Management applications from start to finish in as little as 5 clicks. Sigma's improved, easy-to-use interface and interactive help menu allow even the most novice of users to start creating wireless applications immediately and enhances the wireless enterprise experience.
The new Sigma enterprise solution software is now offered with WolfeEngine, a blackbox hardware security component of WolfeTech's wireless enterprise solution offering. The WolfeEngine Server translates HTML, and HDML into SigmaML, which is highly optimized for the wireless networks, increasing transaction speed. WolfeEngine serves as a Connection Gateway controlling traffic from the corporate data source to the wireless device via the intranet and/or Internet to the wireless network, as well as serves as a transaction server providing a seamless wireless encryption layer.
Sigma features enterprise proven, U.S. Government standard, industrial-strength security including 128-bit Triple-DES standard for encryption and RSA server certificates for server authentication. Private keys are established wirelessly the first time Sigma is used without having to cradle devices, providing a secure key exchange between WolfeEngine and the Sigma client. Sigma utilizes server certificates with key length up to 2048 bits, forcing the client to verify the WolfeEngine identity before keys are officially exchanged, providing a completely sealed and secured wireless data transaction between WolfeEngine, Sigma software and the enterprise RIM wireless handheld.
Sigma 1.1 improvements revealed increased processing speeds even with robust security features. Secure encryption typically adds time to the average large page download. Without encryption, the average large web page, cnn.com for example, typically takes the average wireless device 1.3 seconds to download. After adding the complex security encryption process required for some enterprise data, the average large web page takes up to six minutes. With the new version of Sigma, WolfeTech's development team has broken new ground keeping all complex security encryption while using new incremental rendering process to shave large page download times by 64%. With the new version of Sigma 1.1, each packet of data is encrypted when using the safe mode. WolfeTech Sigma 1.1 uses the wireless standard of Public Key Cryptography Standard (PKCS).
"To Sigma's end user, wireless enterprise data is now easier, and faster than ever," said WolfeTech CEO Surya Jayaweera. "And to the enterprise and its IT team, Sigma is more robust and secure, making the wireless enterprise solution a tool instead of a pain."
The Sigma Mobile Enterprise Solutions software is available for RIM 950™, and 957™ Wireless Handhelds.
