Onset Technology Will Showcase Its Mobile Data Access Solutions at RIM Wireless Symposium
Breakout Session at RIM Conference Will Feature Mobile Data Access Application of METAmessage for Wireless at Mintz Levin
Wireless Enterprise Symposium (WES), New Orleans, LA - Onset Technology, a leading developer of enterprise access software for wireless handheld devices, will showcase its METAmessage for Wireless solution for BlackBerry™ at the Wireless Enterprise Symposium opening today at the Marriott New Orleans. Onset, a sponsor of this year's symposium, will demonstrate a range of legal and field-service applications of its data access solutions. The Symposium, which runs May 6-7, is hosted by Research In Motion (RIM) and features the latest exhibits and discussions about wireless enterprise technologies. Onset is located in booth B2.
In addition, Stewart Fox, Onset vice president for sales and marketing, will join with David Gregson, director of information services for Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, PC to present a Breakout Session in Track 3 titled: Beyond Wireless Email: Implementing Wireless Data Access. The breakout session is scheduled to begin at 3:20 p.m. today.
METAmessage for Wireless is one of the most popular third-party software add-ons for BlackBerry handhelds. More than 1000 business and government customers currently use the software on BlackBerry networks, connecting more than 100,000 wireless users. METAmessage data access capabilities let handheld users interact directly with a range of enterprise data sources including document management programs from iManage and Hummingbird, SQL/ODBC databases, Web services, and secure enterprise applications. The user simply opens a form on the handheld and either requests information from or adds information to the data source.
METAmessage supports the Blackberry Enterprise Server v3.5 and the Mobile Data Service feature from RIM. METAmessage solutions also let handheld users get network files to send, read, or print; access the Web, without opening a browser, for driving directions, flight information, Google searches, and more; spell-check outgoing messages; and read email attachments and Web pages and print them anywhere, including network printers.
The Breakout Session will focus on reliable access to corporate data as the next wave for the BlackBerry wireless solution, covering easy access to customer records, legal briefs, contact files, inventories, shipping documents, contracts, and more. The presentation will include a profile of Onset customer Mintz Levin, an AmLaw 100 Boston law firm. Fox will offer a look at the future of mobile data access and discuss the technical considerations. Gregson will discuss how METAmessage for Wireless has affected Mintz Levin's business including document management systems and databases.
