Onset Technology Records 30% Revenue Increase, Significant Adoption of METAmessage COOP/DR Capabilities

Sustained Growth Driven by Large Legal, Government Sales; Federal Agencies Install METAmessage for Public Safety and Security Features; Onset Now Partners With All Major US Carriers Offering BlackBerry®

A CRUZ, CA - (MARKET WIRE) - Onset Technology, a leading developer of enterprise access software for wireless handheld devices, announced today that its Q3 sales increased 30% over the previous quarter. Q3 customers included law firms deploying new, Java-based BlackBerry handhelds from Research In Motion (RIM) (NasdaqNM:RIMM - News) (Toronto:RIM.TO - News) as well as federal agencies implementing handheld access to databases via METAmessage's data access feature. Increased sales also reflected a fast adoption of METAmessage's Continuity of Operations (COOP) and disaster recovery (DR) capabilities that provide PIN updating, PIN-to-PIN archiving, and handheld storage of emergency documents. Q3 also marked the completion of partner and referral agreements with ATT Wireless, Cingular, Nextel, T-Mobile, and Verizon.

Onset's President and CEO Gadi Mazor said, "The sustained success of METAmessage as an integral part of many BlackBerry deployments has proven Onset's business model. METAmessage substantially increases the productivity of handheld users, and we're adding critical, if not life-saving value to handhelds with our COOP/DR tools. I'm very proud that Onset's profitability is a result of the consistently exceptional standard of quality and support that is behind our products."

In the legal sector, several law firms, including Shearman & Sterling LLP, with more than 1000 lawyers located in all of the world's financial capitals, licensed METAmessage for new, Java-based BlackBerry handhelds as well as already deployed devices.

In the government sector, the US Postal Service and the US House of Representatives took advantage of Onset's new site licensing program to provide METAmessage service to an unlimited number of users. Another large agency licensed METAmessage to provide handheld interaction with databases as well as access to emergency documents and procedures directly on user handhelds -- documents that users can read even if wireless service is disrupted. These public safety/security features include the ability to display color images such as mug shots on new BlackBerry models.
