Gibson, McClure, Wallace & Daniels, L.L.P. Selects Timetag Professional to Track Time
Law Firm captures 10% more billable time using Timetag Professional with Microsoft® Outlook and BlackBerry®
Richardson, Texas - Timetag, Inc. today announced that the law firm of Gibson, McClure, Wallace & Daniels, L.L.P. (GMWD) has chosen Timetag Professional to track billable time. With Timetag Professional, the firm's attorneys enter billable time wherever they are working: in their Microsoft Outlook calendar when in the office or in their BlackBerry calendar when away from the office.
GMWD is a mid-sized civil litigation law firm based in Dallas, Texas that provides counseling and litigation services in a variety of practice areas. As their firm grew, the partners increasingly recognized that the paper time slip was an inefficient method of recording billable time. After administrative staff entered the time data, they printed timesheets for proofing by attorneys, with ensuing cycles of corrections and re-proofing. According to partner Wade McClure, "Billing was always late, there were always snafus - it was not a good situation."
Their entry process was not just inefficient; it resulted in material amounts of lost revenue. Wade McClure estimates that Timetag has already decreased the amount of lost billable time from 15% to 5%, and anticipates decreasing it even further in the future. Timetag allows the firm to capture more time because the tool is instantly available on the user's computer or Blackberry, anywhere the user happens to be. McClure sums up his experience with Timetag by saying, "It's very empowering. It empowers us to keep track of our own time in a more efficient way and utilizes what all of us use in everyday life - Outlook. It's easier than our old process and has gotten us out of our month-end rut. Now, even when we're of out of the office, we can still bill our own time."
Timetag increases the amount of billable time law firms capture through a number of innovative features, including:
- Attorneys record time in their existing calendars (Outlook, BlackBerry, Palm or Pocket PC), using tools they already know and are always at their fingertips. With Timetag, there is no new software to install or learn on the PC or handheld.
- BlackBerry users automatically capture billable time spent on the telephone by simply forwarding wireless phone logs to Timetag.
- Attorneys capture billable time spent in e-mail conversations by forwarding or sending e-mail messages to Timetag.
- Timetag sends each attorney a daily e-mail showing time entered for the previous day, as well as month-to-date totals, providing a gentle yet persuasive reminder to enter time every day.
- Timetag sends practice managers a daily e-mail listing hours for each billable professional in the practice for today, yesterday, week- and month-to-date, enabling the practice manager to follow up with professionals who have not entered time.
"Timetag is making a material impact on the revenue of many firms like GMWD", said Leon Campise, President and CEO of Timetag, Inc. "Among law firms, increased time capture translates directly to increased revenue and profitability. We're thrilled to contribute to the success of great firms like Gibson, McClure, Wallace & Daniels."
