Nextair Inc. To Provide Wireless Platform to Brookfield LePage Johnson Controls Facilities Management Services

Canada's Leading Workplace Management Firm Selects Nextair as Wireless Partner

Nextair Inc. (TSX: NXA - Nextair), a leading provider of wireless platforms and applications, announced today that Brookfield LePage Johnson Controls (BLJC) Facilities Management Services, the Canadian leader in workplace management services, has signed an agreement to purchase Nextair Inc.'s AIRIX™ software platform for integration into their RealSuite™ software solutions.

BLJC has wirelessly enabled their RealSuite solution using Nextair's award-winning technology. By collecting, structuring, and leveraging information using the latest technologies, BLJC delivers corporate real estate service solutions that optimize their client's workplace. The result is a complete, innovative management system that's faster and more streamlined. Nextair is very pleased to now be part of the BLJC software suite.

Mark Marquis, Vice-President, eBusiness & Systems Integration of BLJC stated, "The AIRIX Wireless Environment™ and AIRIX Design Studio™ allowed us to build and deploy a RIM Blackberry Handheld™ mobile application faster than we ever thought possible. In a matter of days we completed the enabling of our RealSuite solution using AIRIX, upgrading it from a RIM browser-only solution to a RIM Blackberry client application. Unlike a browser solution, the AIRIX solution functions on the actual device even while out of wireless coverage, providing greater capabilities and usability for our clients, managers, and field staff. In addition, we can now leverage our solution across a variety of mobile devices. In short, what we thought would take three months to engineer, we have in a matter of days."

Ron Close, Nextair's President and CEO stated, "Companies know the value of mobile computing and getting timely information to and from their field forces. But the limitation of wireless network coverage has historically meant that employees can only use their hand-held devices when they are connected to the network. AIRIX allows the hand-held device to work even when the network is unavailable. This is why AIRIX is such a compelling solution. We're excited to add BLJC to a list of growing customers and look forward to their continued support for AIRIX with other projects."

AIRIX enables enterprises to create and deploy intelligent mobile data solutions that work offline and utilize the processing capabilities and the unique features of mobile devices, without having to tie your application investment to a specific device or network. Unlike server or database mobile synchronization solutions and most certainly mobile browser type solutions, AIRIX is a far superior mobile design technology. AIRIX allows your business the freedom to choose the combinations of devices and networks that are most cost-effective and appropriate to your business needs, while providing an easy upgrade path to future generations of mobile devices and networks.

The AIRIX Wireless Environment is a family of products that includes the AIRIX Design Studio, AIRIX Smart Client™, AIRIX Transaction Server™, AIRIX Enterprise Server™, and the AIRIX Mobile Communication API™. Together, these products provide the most innovative and advanced mobile data solutions on the market today.

Features of AIRIX include;

  • 128-bit SSL encryption
  • Transaction-level authentication
  • Store-and-forward message queuing
  • Wireless transaction management
  • OTAP (Over The Air Provisioning) of applications
  • Local data stores
  • Offline operation
  • Configurable mobile data network connection management
  • Support for multiple mobile data networks
  • Intuitive user interface that reduces the complexity of wireless connectivity for the mobile user
