coreFusion Introduces Pagica Service for BlackBerry®
Toronto - coreFusion today announced a new service to provide pager functionality for BlackBerry® from Research In Motion (RIM) (Nasdaq: RIMM; TSX: RIM).
Customers can register online and will receive a toll free number that is reachable anywhere in the United States or Canada. Using the toll free number, anyone can send a numeric message to the BlackBerry device of the subscriber. They will receive the message as an email or text message on their handheld, depending on the subscribers’ preference.
"Providing pager functionality to BlackBerry will allow clients to reduce the number of devices being carried," says Pete McPhedran, President, coreFusion. "Traditionally many professionals would be carrying a pager and a mobile phone, perhaps even a PDA. Using BlackBerry with Pagica, clients can combine the features of BlackBerry with paging services in one integrated device."
Pagica also allows clients to manage when and where they get paged. Using the Pagica web Portal, clients can enable a schedule and change what email or text message address will receive the pager messages. "Scheduling when you receive messages is a feature that will allow clients to receive pages when they want, perhaps in alignment with a shift or simply for a ’do not disturb’ period," says McPhedran.
In addition to scheduling, clients can view a log of all pager messages received, even those queued up for delivery based upon their chosen schedule.
The Pagica service is available today and is priced at $9/month (Canadian dollars).
