New 'Power Features' for BlackBerry Users:Version 2.0 TimeKM Mobile for BlackBerry

Montreal - PensEra Knowledge Technologies announces the release of Version 2.0 of TimeKM Mobile™ with a new suite of Power Features for BlackBerry® users.  TimeKM™ is a time and knowledge tracking system designed for the unique needs of attorneys. The Power Features in Version 2.0 reduce the effort needed to track mobile activity via BlackBerry , so a busy attorney can instantly capture the value of an activity from the device.

Recording or viewing information on a pocket-sized device while standing in a corridor is much different than working at a desktop computer. Limitations on time, space, effort, and support pose unique challenges for the mobile user.

Version 2.0 improves TimeKM’s two streamlined methods to capture activity via BlackBerry. The “jot-it-down” process provides a clear, simple screen to capture three essentials in seconds. Power Features now provide built-in shortcuts for every action, so an attorney can:

  • Select hours by scrolling numbers,
  • Select a case by keying the first few letters (TimeKM CaseMemoryädoes the rest),
  • Enter a description by keying a few letters (BlackBerry AutoText does the rest).

If any essentials are missing, TimeKM still captures the partial mobile entry for revision or completion by the attorney or his assistant back at the office. No capture effort is lost or forgotten.

TimeKM’s enhanced “tag and send” process is even quicker. An attorney can simply tag an activity on the BlackBerry handheld and save it to TimeKM using integrated menu selections.   In two clicks, TimeKM transforms a telephone call, e-mail message or calendar entry into a time entry. A 9:00-11:00 meeting on the BlackBerry calendar quickly becomes a two-hour time entry back at the office.

From a technical standpoint, TimeKM Mobile can now be deployed to BlackBerry handhelds over-the-air (OTA), so the cost of deployment and updates can be significantly reduced.

“A lot of things compete for the mobile attorney’s attention, so it’s easy to see why charges for work outside the office sometimes gets postponed and forgotten,” said Peter Zver, President of PensEra. “The Power Features in Version 2.0 are built for this mobile reality. They shortcut tracking, leverage BlackBerry technology and bypass clerical tasks, so any attorney armed with BlackBerry and five minutes of orientation is ready to recover the value of mobile work.”
