Hutchison Telecom and RIM to Introduce BlackBerry 7230™ and BlackBerry 7730 Wireless Handhelds™ with Support for Chinese Characters

Hong Kong - Hutchison Telecom and Research In Motion (RIM) will soon introduce the BlackBerry 7230™ and BlackBerry 7730 Wireless Handhelds™ with support for Chinese characters in Hong Kong. With new software loaded on BlackBerry® 7230 and BlackBerry 7730™ handhelds and BlackBerry Web Client™, users will be able to read and compose Chinese messages with up to five Chinese input methods including the highly popular Cangjie and Pinyin.

The tri-band BlackBerry 7230 and BlackBerry 7730 offer users a more engaging experience with high-resolution color displays, supporting over 65,000 colors. Ideal for frequent travelers, the BlackBerry 7230 and BlackBerry 7730 support the comprehensive Hutchison Telecom's GPRS roaming service to over 90 countries and destinations soon in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific*.

Tailored for the needs of individual users and small businesses, BlackBerry Web Client provides an Internet-based email interface that allows users to access up to 10 existing corporate or personal email accounts (including Microsoft® Exchange, IBM Lotus® Domino™ and popular ISP email accounts) from a single BlackBerry handheld.

With always-on, push-based access to existing email accounts (including support for attachment viewing), built-in phone and integrated support for attachment viewing, SMS, Internet and organizer applications, the BlackBerry 7230 and BlackBerry 7730 are designed to keep users connected to people and information while on the go.
