Ecutel Systems Announces SDK and New Plug-in Framework for IC2
New Plug-in Framework makes it easy to customize wireless data solutions for BlackBerry®
Herndon, VA - Ecutel Systems, Inc., a provider of advanced wireless security and mobility software for the enterprise, today unveiled its new Software Development Kit (SDK) and Java™-based Plug-in Framework for IC2 (Infrastructure Command and Control) remote enterprise management software. IC2 gives IT operations personnel using the BlackBerry® platform from Research In Motion (RIM) (Nasdaq: RIMM; TSX: RIM) the ability to wirelessly manage their critical computing infrastructure including network elements, servers, desktops, printers, and users from anywhere. The new SDK and Framework make it easy to create new application modules and features to make IC2 highly customized for each enterprise's environment.
Ecutel's IC2 software now includes several core plug-ins for managing Active Directory, LDAP, NDS, Microsoft® Exchange, and BlackBerry Enterprise Server™.
IC2 is a remote enterprise management solution that allows organizations to reduce the costs associated with maintaining a high level of system and network uptime. The new Plug-in Framework and SDK will allow Ecutel customers to leverage the highly secure architecture of IC2 and move beyond the core remote enterprise management tools to deploy new wireless data solutions rapidly and with minimal cost.
"As IC2 continues to gain momentum in the remote enterprise management market, our customers have demanded a simple way to create customized modules for internal processes," said Ali Ersheid, Ecutel Systems' VP of Product Marketing. "The new Framework and SDK make it possible for our customers to create scalable and secure modules that fit their specific needs."
BlackBerry is the industry-leading wireless solution that keeps mobile professionals connected to their important information and communications while on the go. It is an award-winning solution that can provide users with integrated wireless access to a range of business applications, including email, phone, corporate data, web, SMS and organizer applications. For individuals and smaller companies, BlackBerry Web Client™ allows users to access multiple corporate and/or personal email accounts from a single BlackBerry handheld. For larger enterprises with an IT department, BlackBerry Enterprise Server software tightly integrates with Microsoft Exchange or IBM Lotus® Domino™ and works with existing enterprise systems to enable secure, push-based, wireless access to existing email and other corporate data.
"IC2 leverages the BlackBerry wireless platform to provide IT administrators with an always-on, remote management tool," said Mark Guibert, Vice President of Corporate Marketing at RIM. "The combination of BlackBerry and IC2 helps increase IT administrators' productivity, improve response times, and reduce overall support costs."
The new Plug-in Framework is available today. The Software Development Kit (SDK) beta is now available to partners with a commercial release expected this summer.
Ecutel Systems is demonstrating IC2 at RIM's Wireless Enterprise Symposium 2004 conference in Chicago from May 18-19 in booth #111.
