Mirifex Joins BlackBerry ISV Alliance Program To Enable Wireless Access To Enterprise Systems

Strongsville, OH - Mirifex, a leading provider of high-worth business and technology solutions, today announced that the company has joined the BlackBerry® ISV (Independent Software Vendor) Alliance Program. The alliance advances Mirifex’s commitment to providing industry-leading, cost-efficient, custom wireless software that allows users full and complete interaction with enterprise-wide systems and software from remote locations at low cost of implementation.   The platform is designed to work seamlessly with BlackBerry® from Research In Motion (RIM) (NASDAQ: RIMM; TSX: RIM).

The Mirifex solution, MBA (Mobile Business Access) Software improves the productivity of mobile professionals, reduces response times and error opportunities, and enables users to drive down the cost of doing business. The product can be easily customized for use in corporate management/oversight, field sales and service, logistics management, and inventory management in a wide array of vertical markets.

Because end user applications are constructed upon an existing base platform, MBA represents “custom software without the custom price,” said Bill Nemeth, President of Mirifex.   “But such adaptation doesn’t reduce the quality of the user experience.  Regardless of what the end user requires of the software, MBA incorporates capabilities that take full advantage of wireless technology.”  MBA features screen designs comfortably engineered specifically for BlackBerry handsets, Nemeth said.  It can accommodate virtually unlimited data and screens.  And it is fully scalable.

MBA offers a simple integration interface to connect to any existing system such as a custom database application, a CRM system, an ERP system, or any vertical market application. MBA can be connected to name-brand systems like Siebel, SAP, JD Edwards, Remedy, Heat, Microsoft CRM, Microsoft Navision, Microsoft Great Plains, PeopleSoft, Onyx, Oracle and many legacy systems, such as AS/400.

Launched in 2003, MBA has been deployed and endorsed by customers around North America.   Cleveland, Ohio-based Flight Options, for instance, the world’s fastest-growing fractional jet ownership company, is using MBA to facilitate communications with and data transmissions to and from more than 1,100 pilots across the nation.  The company has seen its phone bills shrink by more than 20%, realized major productivity gains, and received universally positive reception from the field. "Our demand was for a powerful business solution without painful implementation nor high cost," said Dave Davies, CIO of Flight Options.  “MBA with BlackBerry delivered beyond our expectations.” Manufacturers such as Kraftmaid and Moen have also embraced MBA and experienced similar gains, as have a wide array of distributors and healthcare providers.

“BlackBerry is the wireless platform of choice for corporate and government organizations around the world because of the unique mobile experience offered to users and the advanced capabilities to tightly integrate with existing enterprise systems,” said Mark Guibert, Vice President, Corporate Marketing at Research In Motion. “With Mirifex’s Mobile Business Access application, BlackBerry users can access important information from their intranet and back-end systems, helping them to enhance customer service and increase productivity.”

Mirifex saw the trend to wireless devices developing as early as 1999, Nemeth said. “We’ve stayed abreast of wireless growth over the past several years. And we’ve taken calculated steps to time the development of MBA to coincide with the expanded availability and capability of BlackBerry and other popular handhelds.  MBA coupled with BlackBerry now has the ability to provide the information that business professionals need to make sound, informed decisions, and puts it at their fingertips, no matter where they are.”
