Bell introduces the BlackBerry Pearl 8130 Smartphone
Supported by new data plan ideal for consumers and small businesses
Toronto, ON - Bell today announced the availability of the BlackBerry® Pearl™ 8130 smartphone from Research In Motion (RIM) (Nasdaq: RIMM; TSX: RIM), offering rich multimedia features together with all the renowned communications and productivity capabilities of the BlackBerry® platform.

The BlackBerry Pearl 8130 smartphone runs on Bell’s high speed mobile network, the fastest and largest available across North America, which is ideal for emailing, mobile browsing and viewing attachments.
Bell is also introducing new rate plans for RIM’s BlackBerry smartphones, aimed particularly at consumers and small businesses. For $20 per month, the Email and Internet BlackBerry 20 plan offers 2 MB of data use with the data-efficient BlackBerry® Internet Service, providing real-time push-based access to popular email services such as Sympatico, Yahoo! and Gmail, as well as messaging and web browsing. For another $15 per month, the BlackBerry 15 Add-on provides an additional 4 MB of data use for even more emailing, mobile browsing, and text and picture messaging. The plan also includes certain smart touch features such as Message Centre Express and Call Display. There is also an Email BlackBerry 15 plan, offering 1.5 MB of data for emailing only, for $15 per month.
Available from Bell in an attractive amethyst colour, the BlackBerry Pearl 8130 includes:

• Facebook® for BlackBerry® Smartphones, a new software application which enhances the capabilities of Facebook for mobile users beyond a mobile browsing experience with picture uploading, automatic message delivery and more
• SureType® keyboard technology, now featuring word completion and spell checker
• Built-in GPS and mapping software, making it easy for users to find their way with turn-by-turn navigation
• Access to ring tones and screen savers offered by Bell, for the first time
• Two megapixel camera with flash, zoom and video capture
• Enhanced media player, perfect for listening to music and watching videos
• Convenient externally accessible microSD/SDHC memory card slot, providing plenty of storage for music, videos and pictures
• Bluetooth® stereo audio support and 3.5mm stereo headphone jack, compatible with standard MP3 player head phones
• Roxio Photosuite® LE is included as part of the BlackBerry Desktop Manager software, which makes it easy to edit pictures and create photo albums
• Ultra-thin high-capacity removable battery
