Skyscape® Enters BlackBerry® ISV Alliance Program
Skyscape offers Medical Information to BlackBerry® Users
MARLBOROUGH, Mass. - Skyscape®, the worldwide leading service for trusted medical information by specialty for mobile devices, today announced they have joined the BlackBerry® ISV Alliance Program. The program will help Skyscape extend its leadership position in the healthcare institutional market by adding the BlackBerry® wireless platform from Research in Motion (RIM) (NASDAQ:RIMM;TSX:RIM) to the Skyscape STATTM experience.
Skyscape is committed to providing healthcare professionals with innovative and time-saving tools to improve point-of-care service. RIM has successfully demonstrated the benefits of the BlackBerry platform within the healthcare information technology (IT) environment. Together, the two solutions provide an unprecedented offering that unlocks the value of mobile devices at the point-of-care.
“The BlackBerry platform, along with RIM’s proven leadership position with IT professionals within the healthcare enterprise market, provides a perfect opportunity for Skyscape to deploy a wide array of valuable information, delivered at the point-of-care," said Sandeep Shah, Skyscape CEO. “Skyscape’s architecture has consistently delivered a rich user experience, exploiting the capabilities of the platforms it supports. We are looking forward to leveraging the BlackBerry platform’s core wireless, push technology and integrated security to offer up-to-the-minute trusted information to healthcare institutions.”
With this introduction, BlackBerry users will enjoy full access to all of Skyscape’s 400+ trusted medical resources and decision support tools in 30+ unique medical specialties. The availability of wireless installs and updates will make it easier than ever for users to access specialty-specific clinical information as well as breaking medical news and alerts.
"The BlackBerry platform is achieving widespread success in the healthcare market," said Jeff McDowell, Vice President, Global Alliances, Research In Motion. "Skyscape’s demonstrated leadership in trusted medical information by specialty, in combination with the robust BlackBerry platform, provides an ideal solution for hospitals and other healthcare institutions to enhance and standardize healthcare delivery through practitioners.”
This week at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Annual Conference in New Orleans, Skyscape will demonstrate the capabilities of Skyscape STAT at the BlackBerry booth #6647.
Dr. Tom Karson, Chief Medical Information Officer at Beth Israel Medical Center, St. Luke’s Hospital and Roosevelt Hospital, is looking forward to having access on the new platform. “As both a physician and CIO of a major medical center, I am thrilled to have Skyscape available on the BlackBerry platform. As a long term Skyscape user, I have experienced Skyscape’s unparalleled value as a point-of-care clinical decision-support system. I am confident that other CIOs, as well as practitioners, will be equally pleased to have Skyscape’s valuable medical information service available on their BlackBerry devices.”
