Information Builders and RIM to Deliver Wireless Business Solutions

WebFOCUS Business Intelligence Software and BlackBerry Wireless Email Solution Provide Synergy for Corporate Customers

New York - Information Builders, the leader in Web Business Intelligence, and Research In Motion Limited (RIM) (Nasdaq: RIMM;TSE: RIM), a world leader in the mobile communications market, today announced a strategic alliance focused on helping companies extend business intelligence to mobile professionals. The companies plan to work together to jointly market WebFOCUS-based applications integrated with BlackBerry™.

BlackBerry is an end-to-end wireless email solution designed by RIM to allow mobile users to access their email wherever they go. BlackBerry features an integrated package of powerful wireless handhelds with integrated email/organizer software, PC docking cradle, PC synchronization software, optional enterprise server software, and nationwide airtime.

Information Builders' WebFOCUS is a tightly integrated suite of Business Intelligence tools designed to support today's most critical e-business initiatives. With WebFOCUS, organizations can deliver information easily and instantly to management, employees, customers, partners, and vendors - at the point of business where it's most vital.

A new WebFOCUS mobile solution, TellMe By Email, can send scheduled or Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports via email to BlackBerry Wireless Handhelds™. BlackBerry users can drill down in the reports by emailing requests directly back to TellMe By Email. TellMe By Email then runs additional reports, delivering the information back to the BlackBerry handheld via email-all over a nationwide wireless data network and without human intervention.

"'Information Builders' new TellMe By Email solution provides organizations with the ability to easily extend information systems to BlackBerry Wireless Handhelds by using email as a simple and familiar interface," said Mark Guibert, Director of Marketing at Research In Motion. "BlackBerry handhelds aptly support and enhance this type of mobile business application through features such as 'Always On, Always Connected™' operation, large screens, easy-to-use keyboards, and encryption-based security."

"This partnership makes great sense," says Information Builders Senior Vice President of Business Intelligence Dave Sandel. "We're adding tremendous value to both Information Builders and RIM customers. Business users can now access any data in their enterprise, run reports, and analyze their business from any location, all over a reliable wireless network and from an easy-to-use BlackBerry handheld."
