Research In Motion Signs Agreement With Rogers AT&T Wireless To Supply BlackBerry Wireless Email Solution

Rogers AT&T Wireless To Distribute BlackBerry Internet Edition In Canada

Waterloo, ON - Research In Motion Limited (Nasdaq: RIMM; TSE: RIM) today announced it signed an agreement with Canada's largest wireless provider - Rogers AT&T Wireless - to distribute BlackBerry™ Internet Edition in Canada. As part of the agreement, Rogers AT&T Wireless placed an initial order for ten thousand BlackBerry Handhelds.

"Rogers AT&T Wireless customers have been enjoying the benefits of two-way email communications since we first launched our Interactive Messaging service in January 1999," said David Neale, Vice President, Product Development, Rogers AT&T Wireless. "BlackBerry adds further functionality, including full integration with Microsoft Outlook's calendar, tasks and address book to this already robust communications device."

BlackBerry Internet Edition offers customers a singlemailbox, mobile solution with both wireless and Web-based access to email. Rogers AT&T Wireless will supply customers with a single email address and single mailbox that can be accessed through their BlackBerry Wireless Handheld and through a PC using a password-protected Rogers Web site. This dual approach provides customers with the flexibility to manage their email when and where it's convenient. The BlackBerry Wireless Handheld allows easy mobile access while Web-access allows the added flexibility to easily retrieve, create, forward, print and archive email including attachments from any Web-enabled PC.

"Working with Rogers AT&T Wireless allows us to reach an important market of mobile professionals in Canada and satisfy the growing demand for wireless email," said David Werezak, VP Marketing, Research In Motion. "The upgrade and expansion of the Rogers AT&T wireless data network together with RIM's leading BlackBerry solution delivers a highly competitive offering for the mobile consumer."

The Rogers AT&T Mobitex wireless network was built by Ericsson Canada.
