WyndTell Service on RIM Wireless Handhelds Provides Powerful Job Accommodation for Federal Workers

Wynd and Research In Motion Demonstrate Accessibility Solution at Government Technology Conference

Washington, D.C - Today at FOSE (Federal Office Systems Expo), the largest government information technology conference and showcase in the world, Wynd Communications (a GoAmerica company: NASDAQ: GOAM), the leading wireless communications service provider for people who are deaf or hard of hearing, and Research In Motion Limited (RIM) (Nasdaq: RIMM; TSE: RIM), a world leader in the mobile communications market, together will demonstrate the award winning WyndTell wireless solution operating on RIM Wireless Handhelds™.

"Our customers tell us that our WyndTell service is a powerful job accommodation tool which helps level the playing field for employees who are deaf or hard of hearing," said Dan Luis, President and CEO, Wynd Communications. "We are delighted to build on GoAmerica's existing relationship with RIM to offer this service. WyndTell service can meet the wireless communications needs of thousands of federal employees who are deaf or hard of hearing."

"The combination of WyndTell with RIM's wireless handhelds is an excellent fit for government agencies that need to meet the unique communications needs of employees who are deaf or hard of hearing," said Don McMurtry, Vice President of Sales at Research In Motion. "RIM is pleased to work with Wynd to offer this solution to a broad range of government customers through Wynd's contract on the GSA Federal Supply Schedule."

Fulfilling the Spirit of the ADA, Section 508, and the New Freedom Initiative
In 1990, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was signed, extending legal protections and equal employment opportunity to people with disabilities. In addition, on December 21, 2000, the U.S. Access Board issued final standards under Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act requiring that Information and Electronic Technology purchased by the Federal government be accessible to people with disabilities.

Most recently, on February 1, 2001, President George W. Bush announced the New Freedom Initiative on Disabilities, a proposal aimed at improving the lives of Americans with disabilities and increasing access to assistive technology.

"Wynd and RIM have captured the spirit of these landmark initiatives with WyndTell service operating on RIM handhelds. This technology demonstrates collaboration in the private sector to deliver communication accessibility to people who are deaf or hard of hearing," added Luis.

WyndTell Service Available on the GSA Federal Supply Schedule
The General Services Administration (GSA) Federal Supply Service provides worldwide support to Federal agencies through several business lines, including supply, commercial acquisition, vehicle acquisition and leasing, travel and transportation, and property management. Through partnerships with 8,000 contractors, GSA offers four million commercial products and services and continuously looks for solutions that help meet the needs of Federal employees.

"GSA's job is to provide high quality, affordable solutions to our customers, the thousands of employees of the federal government," said Chuck Popelka, GSA Director of Business Development for the IT Acquisition Center. "Using innovative technologies, such as these, is key to genuine job accommodation and accessibility."
