SingTel and Research In Motion Introduce the GPS-enabled BlackBerry Pearl 8110 Smartphone in Singapore
Singapore- Singapore Telecommunications Limited (SingTel) and Research In Motion (RIM) (Nasdaq: RIMM; TSX: RIM) today announced the availability of the BlackBerry® Pearl 8110™ smartphone in Singapore. The BlackBerry Pearl 8110 smartphone is packed with powerful communications and multimedia capabilities in a sleek and stylish form factor, combining new features with an enhanced user experience.
Designed for people who want to make the most of their work and personal lives, the BlackBerry Pearl 8110 smartphone comes complete with built-in GPS (Global Positioning System) allowing mobile users to pinpoint their location, a 2-megapixel digital camera with video capture capability*, a powerful multimedia player, robust email and messaging features and premium voice and data capabilities including phone, web browser, organizer functions and access to a wide variety of business and leisure applications.

Key features of the BlackBerry Pearl 8110 smartphone include:
- Built-in GPS, which when combined with BlackBerry® Maps or other mapping applications, allows mobile users to determine their geographic location on a map, get step-by-step directions, find businesses and points-of-interest as well as share routes with others
- Advanced multimedia features including a 2-megapixel camera with enhanced flash and 5x digital zoom, and the ability to take pictures and record video; photos can be shared via email, MMS and instant messaging applications, as well as uploaded to social network sites, including Facebook®
- Premium phone features such as Speaker Independent Voice Recognition (SIVR) for Voice Activated Dialing (VAD), as well as enhanced background noise, wind and echo cancellation
- Bluetooth® 2.0, with support for hands-free headsets, stereo headsets, car kits, and other Bluetooth accessories
- Intuitive trackball navigation system and RIM’s innovative SureType® keyboard technology with word completion and spell checker
- Externally accessible microSD/SDHC card slot for additional storage of music, photos and videos
- Easy management of media files on the computer and smartphone via the BlackBerry® Desktop Software that includes Roxio® Media Manager for BlackBerry®, as well as Roxio Photosuite® 9 LE for enhancing pictures and creating photo albums on a PC

The BlackBerry Pearl 8110 smartphone is now available from SingTel at a suggested retail price of SGD538 with a 2-year contract.
