Mobile Telephony of Serbia, Alcatel-Lucent and RIM Announce the Launch of the BlackBerry Solution in Serbia
Belgrade, Serbia, Paris, France and Waterloo, ON - Mobile Telephony of Serbia (mt:s), Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) and Research In Motion (RIM) (NASDAQ: RIMM; TSX: RIM) today announced the launch of the BlackBerry® wireless solution in Serbia. mt:s customers will now be able to enjoy the benefits of enhanced communications and increased productivity by using a Blackberry® smartphone to access email, browse the web, make phone calls, send and receive text and picture messages, as well as access a wide variety of business and leisure applications on the move.
At launch mt:s will offer customers the BlackBerry® Pearl™ 8100, BlackBerry® Curve™ 8300 and BlackBerry® 8800 smartphones, as well as service on BlackBerry® Enterprise Server and BlackBerry® Internet Service.
“Customers will be able to use the BlackBerry Pearl 8100, BlackBerry Curve 8300 and BlackBerry 8800 smartphones in Serbia as well as in more than 60 countries through our over 120 global roaming relationships,” said Vladimir Lučić, executive manager, Mobile Telephony of Serbia, “We have already seen great interest for the BlackBerry solution among various companies and professionals and we are pleased to be working with Alcatel-Lucent to deliver the BlackBerry solution to our customers. Coordination between our team and the Alcatel-Lucent team has ensured the seamless integration of the BlackBerry solution into our mobile network.”
Based on its distribution agreement with RIM, Alcatel-Lucent is leveraging its strong local presence in the region to provide Mobile Telephony of Serbia with the end-to-end implementation, integration, launch and support services for delivering the BlackBerry® solution to the Serbian market. With Alcatel-Lucent managing integration and deployment, Mobile Telephony of Serbia can focus on delivering customer facing services, enabling the operator to quickly meet market demand.

The BlackBerry Curve 8300 is the smallest and lightest full-QWERTY BlackBerry smartphone, and offers a unique blend of powerful communications, web and multimedia features (including camera) to provide users with an exceptional mobile companion for both work and leisure.
The slim and stylish BlackBerry 8800 smartphone is packed with powerful communications capabilities and includes built-in GPS, a media player, expandable memory slot, and intuitive trackball navigation system.
The BlackBerry Pearl 8100 is the smallest BlackBerry smartphone yet at a mere 107mm x 50mm x 14.5mm and weighing just 89 grams. In addition to supporting phone, email, messaging, organiser, web browser and other mobile applications, the BlackBerry Pearl also incorporates a digital camera, media player and an expandable memory slot.
