Tips: Saving and Organizing Your Pictures
For BlackBerry® Pearl™ 8100 series smartphones and BlackBerry® Curve™ 8300 series smartphones
Your BlackBerry® smartphone camera makes it easy to snap pictures wherever you go, so it doesn’t take long to build up a growing collection of photos! Use the tips below to learn how to keep those photos organized by sorting and creating folders that make them easy to find. You can also try out other features that allow you to list, move, zoom and rotate those images. Here's how to get started:
For each of these instructions, you'll want to start off in the BlackBerry Media Player application. Once you're there, click "Pictures", then click "My Pictures", and follow the remaining steps for each action.
First, here are a few instructions on how to start organizing your pictures.
To add a picture folder:
- Press the Menu key.
- Click New Folder.
- Type a name for the folder.
- Click Save.
To sort pictures:
- Press the Menu key.
- Click Options.
- Change the Sort By field.
- Press the Menu key.
- Click Save.

To rename a picture or picture folder:
(You can only rename pictures or picture folders that you added.)
- Highlight a picture or picture folder.
- Press the Menu key.
- Click Rename.
- Type a name for the picture or picture folder.
- Click Save.
To move a picture:
(You can only move pictures that you added.)
- Highlight a picture.
- Press the Menu key.
- Click Move.
- Highlight a picture folder.
- Press the Menu key.
- Click Move Here.

To view pictures in a list:
- Press the Menu key.
- Click View List.
Once your pictures are organized, you can make the most of them on your BlackBerry smartphone. As you do this you still want to use the BlackBerry media player application and click "Pictures" and then "My Pictures" to get started.
To download a Home screen background:
(Please verify that your wireless service provider supports this feature.)
- Press the Menu key.
- Click Download Images.
To use a picture as the Home screen background:
- Highlight a picture.
- Press the Menu key.
- Click "Set As Home Screen Image". (To clear the picture from the Home screen, press the Menu key. Click Reset Home Screen Image.)
You can even view, zoom, and rotate your pictures! Again make sure you are in the BlackBerry media player application and click "Pictures" and then "My Pictures" to get started.
To view pictures as a slide show:
- Highlight a picture.
- Press the Menu key.
- Click View Slide Show.
- To close the slide show, press the Escape key.
To change the number of seconds between slides in a slide show:
- Press the Menu key.
- Click Options.
- Change the Slide Show Interval field.
- Press the Menu key.
- Click Save.

To zoom in or out from a picture:
- In a picture, press the Menu key.
- Click Zoom.
- Roll the trackball up or down. To zoom back to the original picture size, press the Menu key. Click Zoom 1:1.
To pan a picture:
- Verify that you have zoomed in to the picture.
- In a picture, roll the trackball up or down.
To rotate a picture:
- In a picture, press the Menu key.
- Click Rotate. The picture turns 90 degrees in a clockwise direction.
